I created a page size of 270-180mm making it a landscape rectangle. I then went to view and then had to use rulers to allow me to have the exact margin sizes and distance to the end of the page. This made me go 1cm in from all sides and have a 0.5 cm margin in the middle. I made 3 columns which where 7cm in width and 17cm in height. I also made it as 2 tourist attractions can get out onto one spread. This made me think what I can add to my last spread I decided to add a map of where all the tourist attractions are. This will show how far each attraction is from each other. I will add 2 pictures of each attraction. The price to visit it, the nearest station the address and nearest place to park your car.

24/04/2018 Pecha Kucha

For my Pecha Kucha I had create 10 slides onto the PowerPoint presentation. Each slide had to be presented for 30 seconds which would make it a 300 second presentation. I had to put pictures onto the slides with no words as you are not supposed to be reading of the board. The only word you are allowed on the slides is a title e.g. Typography or professional examples. This made it harder as you must think about what you are going to say and remember it. I found this tricky as I personally don’t like talking in front of people. I had also made the presentation easy to understand with pictures people will be able to understand if they did not understand something I say. My target audience for my leaflet is young adults from overseas and young parents with young children. This is because of how my leaflet will have both simple and easy language so both parents and tourists can understand as they may not speak fluent English.

UAL Awarding Body - Level 1 Diploma in Art, Design and Media
Unit 8 - Project Proposal
Name
Dillon Kara
Your Project Title
Unit 7: Final Major project
Pathway (Preferred Art, Design, Media ‘specialism’):
Art, design or media etc. This may be a combination of one or more.

Media Level 2
Section 1: Project Rationale (approx. 100 words)
Since starting the course in September, What skills have you learnt/improved and what does this mean to you? (Is there a skill you prefer and has it influenced your decisions?)
The skills I have learnt from September is the skills of using photoshop and InDesign. This means to me that I’m able too use the adobe programs we use in college to my full potential. I have learnt useful things some easy things and some complicated things to help me succeed in my work and get it done to my full potential.
I have always loved to create leaflets on InDesign since the start of the year this has made me want to make my project over a leaflet. This made me want to make a informative leaflet to inform people about London

Section 2 Project Concept: (approx. 200 words)
Clearly explain the aims of your project. What has influenced you?  What is it you want to communicate and who is your audience? What access will you need to workshops, how will you use independent study?
The things which have influenced me is that I love to help people, and this made me want to create a leaflet to help people understand more about the city of London and what there is to do in the city. The things I want to communicate is the top 5 tourist attractions which people would visit in the city of London. This would make it easier for them to be able to travel around without having to ask people where the location is. My audience is young parents and tourists. In my independent study time I will go to the city and take pictures of the top 5 attractions and put them onto my leaflet.

Section 3 Reflection: (Approx. 50 words)
Explain how you will reflect on your work.
I will reflect on my work by seeing if it looks aesthetically pleasing on the front cover. This will be the first thing the people will see. So the front cover has to be the best looking part as if it isn’t good looking people would not pick it up.
Section 4: Research Sources
What research will you do, both primary and secondary..  Your sources of research should be as wide as possible, including libraries, museums, galleries, journalism, articles, media, galleries, books, film/video, magazines, TV/radio programmes, web sites etc.
My primary research
The primary research I will be doing is visiting museums, galleries and looking at websites. This will give me a clear understanding of what tourists would like to see and visit. How I tested that was to see what places were full of tourists. I noticed that the museums had a lot more tourists in them than other places. This is because people from around the world like to visit places which show the history of London. This will also show them what the city of London looked like and what it looks like now.
