The media product I had created was a leaflet for the top 5 attractions in the city of London. Reflecting back onto my proposal I have seen that I was able to stick to the deadlines that was set and the deadlines I gave myself to go to different places to take pictures or complete a certain piece of work by a certain day. I achieved a wide range of photography skills while taking pictures out in the city of London. This enhanced the way I did my work as I wanted to show off more than my skills of taking pictures. I also made my leaflet in different colours so people can pick a colour they like so it is more appealing towards them.
My FMP product meet the needs of my target audience as I had used simple words and phrases as some tourists find it hard to understand English and having simple words will allow them to understand more. The colours I have used are for the background of my work this will catch the tourist’s eye as there are different colours of the same leaflet. The colours were red, blue, purple, red and pink. These are bright colours will catch the persons eye and make tem want to see what this leaflet is about. I used the same text style as having different styles can put people off on buying your leaflet.
The final layout was made to have A4 page double sided. This will fold 3 ways on the paper and will make it easier to read. The measurements I used was 21 cm by 29.7 cm. This was the size of an a4 paper. My leaflet will be a horizontal format as it will allow me to give more information and more pictures.
The parts that worked out well for my leaflet is the detail I had given. I had used the short and sweet texts which would catch the persons eye. I also had used more detail by giving a description of the place that they will visit and what is good about it. I could have improved on the way the leaflet looked and by adding more pictures onto it.
The software I had used was InDesign this is a software used by most leaflet creators. This software allows quick and easy steps to create a certain size for a certain type of leaflet. I used a range of colours to see what colours would look good. I found out some bright colours used as a text will be not ascetically pleasing and it would put people off on using the leaflet. I used the same typography throughout the leaflet as using more than one font size or lettering would make it look bad. This is due to the fact as most people are used to seeing one normal text throughout a leaflet and not 3/4 texts.
I had researched on different leaflets for different countries this gave me a better understanding of what is needed on a leaflet and what caught my eye and what didn’t. There were things such as lots of texts and no pictures made me dislike the leaflets. The ones that had caught my eye were the one with titles and text the same size as its easier to read as well. The choice of bright colours which made my eye catch to it and want to know what it is about.
If I was to compare my leaflet to a professional persons one. I would say that mine gives a similar view of a professional leaflet but it’s in a simplified version. This is because I wanted to make my leaflet have a simple look and give someone a better understanding of what I wanted to tell them. I did meet my requirements which I had said on my proposal. I wanted to create a simple and easily readable leaflet. This is because I wanted to help people find their way around the city of London and help them. I created it with simple English so people who doesn’t understand English as much it would help them.
